Service overview

Prepare offshore personnel before mobilization.

Offshore medical requirements can vary by employer, project and assignment. Beeline starts with the standard identified by the employer, coordinates the examination and supporting tests, and keeps outstanding documentation visible before the deployment date.

Inside the exam

A focused review of offshore readiness.

The assessment is broader than a routine physical but remains specific to current OEUK guidance, the worker's history and the role. Components may include the following.

01

History + physical

The physician reviews medical history, medications, prior findings and the worker's current health before completing the in-person examination.

02

Cardiovascular review

Blood pressure, pulse, symptoms and relevant cardiovascular history are considered in the context of remote offshore work.

03

Vision + color vision

Visual function and corrective-lens use are reviewed, with color-vision testing added when the role or protocol requires it.

04

Hearing assessment

Hearing is evaluated when required for the selected pathway, role duties or safe response to alarms and instructions.

05

Urinalysis + screening

Urinalysis and other current protocol elements are completed or coordinated according to the examination pathway.

06

Fitness documentation

The OEUK-registered physician records the determination and identifies any records, testing or specialist follow-up still needed.

Delivery settings

Clear about where each step can happen.

Some services can travel to the workforce. Others require clinic equipment or support only remote preparation and follow-up.

01

On-site

Select programs

Group delivery may be possible near ports or mobilization sites when the protocol and examiner availability permit.

02

In-clinic

Primary setting

Clinic appointments support complete examinations and any additional testing or referral needs.

03

Virtual

Preparation + follow-up

Records review and appropriate follow-up may occur remotely; the examination remains in person.

Common questions

What to know before scheduling.

Is an OGUK medical the same as an OEUK medical?

OGUK was the former name of the industry body. It became Offshore Energies UK in 2022, so OEUK is the current name used for the medical assessment and doctors register.

Who may need an OEUK medical?

The requirement may apply to offshore wind, oil and gas, maritime, vessel-transfer, rope-access, emergency-response and other remote or safety-critical personnel. The employer, project, installation operator and contract determine the applicable pathway.

What should I bring to the appointment?

Bring photo identification, the employer or project forms, medication information, corrective lenses or hearing aids, prior offshore certificates and relevant medical or specialist records. Complete records reduce avoidable follow-up.

Does a medical condition automatically prevent offshore work?

Not necessarily. The OEUK-registered examining physician considers the condition, stability, treatment, functional impact, offshore environment and current guidance before making an individual fitness determination.

What can delay completion?

Missing forms or records, unresolved symptoms, abnormal findings, unclear treatment stability or the need for additional testing or specialist information can delay a final determination.

Who decides offshore medical fitness?

The appropriately registered examining clinician makes the medical fitness determination under the selected standard.

Can an OEUK exam be completed on-site?

Select group programs may be possible when location, privacy, equipment and registered-examiner availability support the full protocol.

Is an OEUK certificate accepted everywhere?

Acceptance outside the UK is determined by the relevant country, employer or installation operator. Confirm the required certificate pathway before scheduling or mobilization.
